They can be warm hugs of compassion, empathy, and support, a private place of escape in which to rest, relax and renew; something to hold on to when all else seems to be slipping away...wrapping another in a shawl knit with your own prayers and loving thoughts is a gift not only the one receiving the shawl but also for yourself.....as our world unravels bit by bit, countless circles of compassion are knitting it back together again, one stitch, one shawl, at a time...Shawl recipients will see more clearly that there is hope for tomorrow, that no one is ever completely alone, that someone cares enough to reach out...."

Prayer shawl groups have grown beyond national boundaries. Our group is inter-faith; people from all walks of life and spiritual traditions lovingly knit or crochet beautiful simple prayer shawls for others suffering from trauma, illness, grief or loss, recipients of these beautiful shawls are wrapped in compassion and friendship.
The prayer shawl pattern is very simple and easily completed whether you are a beginner or advanced! The cost of making a shawl is minimal.
